Exercise is a way of life!

“Exercise is not an event,  it is a way of life,” says Ann Asbell, Director of OSU’s Physical Activity Program for students.   “This is my motto and my response when people tell me I’m in good shape.”  Commuting by bicycle or by walking, taking stairs instead of elevators, parking where there is an open spot rather than driving to find the closest spot are everyday habits for Ann who adds,  “Being outside in the Oregon weather is just part of living here, it is not an excuse to not be active.”    A side benefit acccording to Ann is that when you are habitually active, you don’t need to worry as much about the additional calories of a holiday – your body will remind you that you need to take time to be active to achieve balance.”
