As I pause and look back on 2010…I am immensely proud of our students, faculty, and staff and the time, energy, and ingenuity they put into each day. Whether they are learning, teaching, conducting research, or providing valuable outreach services, each person brings a unique contribution to our college. Together we have created a reputation as a pioneering, innovative, think-outside-the-box college that works together to realize our vision for healthy people, across Oregon and around the world. I am especially grateful to those who stepped forward to begin charting our new course for the future and those who worked in the trenches to keep the ship steady on our new voyage.
As I look forward to 2011…I am eager for all the change, progress, and growth we will experience! We’ll be opening our new Hallie Ford Center for Healthy Children and Families, welcoming graduate students into our new program in aging sciences, and transforming to become Oregon’s first College of Public Health and Human Sciences. We expect to continue our record-breaking enrollment growth as more and more students embrace our mission of Taking Care of Life, choosing majors and careers in child development, family sciences, nutrition, exercise sciences, public health and our designed and near environments.
Thank you for sharing pride in our past and excitement about our future! Best wishes for a happy holiday season, the blessings of family and friends, and good health in the New Year!
