Celebrating the Class of 2011

The rhododendrons across campus were unseasonably in full bloom for graduation this year as we celebrated our biggest graduating class ever – awarding 675 undergraduates and 51 graduate students with degrees on June 11th.  On Friday, June 10th, we continued our college tradition of welcoming graduates and their families to our College of Health and Human Sciences Graduation Reception greeting more than 450 guests to our beautiful Women’s Building.

Josephine Marsh-Haffner (center) received her Master of Public Health degree and congratulations from Dr. Marie Harvey (l) and Dr. Sheryl Thorburn (r).

That afternoon, we presented MPH and PhD degrees to 35 students in public health and heard graduating student Josh Stroud’s (link to josh stroud blog) thoughts on the politics and science behind public health.

We invite you to enjoy the story of OSU’s 142nd commencement.

It includes a short feature about our graduate Sara Dorris who found her passion in human development and family sciences while deployed to Kuwait with the Oregon Air National Guard.  She plans to find work helping military families adjust to civilian life.

A hearty congratulations to all of our graduates…as you go out to live our mission of Taking Care of Life, remember to send us news of your job and adventures! http://synergies.oregonstate.edu/alumni-update/research,
