Alumni from the years 1963, 1958, 1953, 1948 and 1943 came back to their alma mater on June 7 during the Oregon State Alumni Association’s annual Golden Jubilee. During a morning coffee social, more than a dozen alumni of the former College of Home Economics stopped by to tell stories of their years within the college and to learn more about the many transformations the college has undergone since they were students. Although disappointed in the national demise of “home economics,” alumni were happy to see the core values of the discipline intact within the new college — caring for children and families, nutrition and exercise.
