Working off of the theme “Eat Right, Your Way, Every Day,” event organizers had booths and activities representing each part of My Plate in order to have fun while teaching the Oregon State community about healthy eating.

Those participating in the events – including Benny the Beaver – also got a chance to ride the college’s new blender bike, a blender that is powered by pedaling the bike. The bike will be used at future college events to promote healthy eating and energy balance.

“I think this is a very interesting way to attract people and it gives us a very good opportunity to teach about energy balance,” says Nutrition Assistant Professor and Extension Specialist Siew Sun Wong.

Guests from campus including Food @ OSU and the food pantry participated along with off-campus guests including Bob’s Red Mill, First Alternative Co-op and Great Harvest Bread Company.
