October 2016 updates

Veronica Royce

Dear Alumni and Friends,

It’s an exciting time to be part of the college! We are hosting several events this fall, from lectures on campus to gatherings in Seattle and Denver. Check out what’s happening in the list below and come join us. I look forward to meeting many of you this fall!

Thanks to all who have taken the time to fill out the alumni survey. Although the chance to win a goodie bag of college swag ends on October 1, you can still share your opinion on the alumni events and programming that are important to you. Take the survey here.

I’m excited to share with you that the college recently hired Student Success Program Assistant Sorin Danciu. Sorin joined our team in mid-September and will assist with a new alumni-student mentoring program that is coming in the near future. Sorin is currently a student in our MPH program and has a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Washington State University. Sorin has been involved with humanitarian relief organizations in Thailand, Honduras and Jamaica and has volunteered for the Children’s Healing Art Project in Portland. While with the CPHHS, Sorin’s main role will be working with students who sign up for the mentor program. If you are interested in making a difference in the lives of our current students, please be on the lookout for more information in the months to come as we develop this important program and begin recruiting alumni mentors. Welcome to the team, Sorin!

Want to help our students navigate a business dinner? We are looking for individuals or employers to host a table at the Career Development Center’s etiquette dinner on November 15. Tables are $250 and offer a great opportunity to meet dedicated students and share your experience with them. For more information, please contact the college’s Career Development Liaison Joanna Abbott.
