Doctoral students win awards at statewide conference

Nearly 60 CPHHS faculty and students participated in the 2018 Oregon Public Health Association (OPHA) Conference

Nearly 60 CPHHS on-campus faculty, Extension faculty and students participated in the 2018 Oregon Public Health Association (OPHA) Annual Conference that took place on the OSU campus last week (October 8-9).

Members of our college gave or coauthored oral presentations and poster sessions, served as moderators and discussants for breakout sessions and panel discussions, and served as judges for the student poster session.

Two of our graduate students received the 2018 Outstanding Student Poster Award: Eric Cerino, PhD student in HDFS, received the award for his poster titled “The impact of daily stress processes on mental health: Examining between-person and within-person associations among older adults.” His mentor is Rob Stawski.

Tiantian Pang, PhD student in epidemiology, received the award for her poster titled “Assessment of disaster preparedness among households in Corvallis, Oregon.” Her mentor is Jeff Bethel.
