Professor Marie Harvey

Professor Marie Harvey received national acclaim for her 30-year career of research, teaching, and leadership when the American Public Health Association presented her with the Carl S. Shultz Award for Lifetime Achievement. Her nominating letters spoke to the significance of her scholarly contributions and to her remarkable generosity of spirit and unassuming leadership style. “I’m humbled by this honor and share the award with fellow colleagues, students, and research and field staff who have worked or are collaborating with me to improve the sexual and reproductive health of women and men.” The award honors individuals who have made an outstanding lifetime contribution to the field of population and reproductive health, and awardees comprise an honor roll of international scholars. The Oregon Master of Public Health Program also recognized Marie’s distinguished research in sexual and reproductive health when they awarded her the 2008 ¬≠Faculty Excellence Award in Research.
