What’s in your water?

College and Extension faculty share the ins and outs of ensuring your drinking water is safe. The big takeaway: Arsenic, nitrate and lead are tasteless, odorless and invisible. The only way to know if they are present is to test your water using a certified laboratory.

Do you know what’s in your drinking water — or how to test for it? Tainted water sources greatly impact long-term health, and pollutants often can’t be identified by sight or smell alone. Join OSU College of Public Health and Human Sciences faculty Molly Kile and Veronica Irvin, and OSU Extension’s Chrissy Lucas, as they break through myths and explore how to fight disease and reduce health disparities by identifying tainted water sources through at-home testing. They’ll also share where to find resources and how the college’s Well Water Program meets you where you live.
