Commencement 2017: Q&A with Luis “Junior” Rivera, BS Dietetics and Exercise Sport Science

Luis “Junior” Rivera will receive his bachelor’s degrees in Dietetics and Exercise and Sport Science on June 17. Junior completed a paid internship while a student in the CPHHS and has his sights set on becoming a physician assistant.

Jessica Klopfenstein graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology in winter 2016. Since completing her degree, she’s been working on campus as a TOUR Ambassador. Following commencement, Jessica will start physical therapy school in southern California.

Commencement 2017: Q&A with Hannah Tacke, BS Public Health

Hannah Tacke will receive her bachelor’s degree in Public Health on June 17. She will continue her studies at OSU and purse her master’s degree in Health Management and Policy beginning in the fall. This summer, Hannah will intern and gain hands-on experience in public health policy by interning at the Oregon State Capitol in Rep. Dan Rayfield’s office.

Video: Surf’s up at OSU

Did you know that all OSU students can catch the stoke of surfing while earning a Physical Activity Course (PAC) Program credit? Instructor Dan Hasselschwert takes PAC 247 guides students through the course. Participants learn about the history, terminology, safety precautions, and equipment of a sport that began with the ancient Polynesians and loved by countless. The class culminates with a 2-day field trip to the Oregon Coast, where students put the knowledge they’ve learned into practice as they paddle out to the lineup for an unforgettable session.
