CPHHS students named Scholar Athletes of the Month

Oregon State Athletics announced that three CPHHS student-athletes have been named February Scholar Athletes of the Month. They are Fern Rodriguez, Lexi Reed and Ann Wingeleth. Fern is majoring in kinesiology on the pre-nursing track, Lexi is majoring in nutrition, and Ann is majoring in human development and family sciences.

Fern, a sophomore from Portland, Oregon, has swam in 13 meets this season. She has set personal bests in both the 100 and 200 breast during the 2018-19 campaign with one regular-season meet and Pac-12 Championships still to come this season.

Lexi, a redshirt sophomore from Denver, Colorado, helped the Beavers to their first-ever NCAA Cross Country Championships in the fall during a historic season. Lexi won the season opener at the Viking Rust Buster, and helped the team to another win at the Bronco Invitational. She was named to the Pac-12 All-Academic Second Team for the first time in her career following the season. Lexi has a 3.93 cumulative GPA majoring in nutrition. She graduated from D’Evelyn High School with a 4.03 GPA.

Ann, a redshirt junior from Lyman, Wyoming, has had an immediate impact upon the track and field program since her arrival last year. The Lyman High School graduate won the indoor season opener in the high jump clearing 5-feet, 9.25-inches. She holds five all-time marks in the Oregon State record books; Indoor Long Jump – No. 2; Outdoor Long Jump – No. 4; Outdoor Triple Jump – No. 4; Indoor Triple Jump – No. 5; Indoor High Jump – No.6. She maintains a 3.96 overall GPA.
