A group of faculty in the School of Social and Behavioral Health Sciences (Karen Hooker, Veronica Irvin, Carolyn Mendez-Luck, Tao Li, Soyoung Choun), graduate students (Lan Doan, Shelbie Turner), and alumna (Sandi Phibbs now at San Jose State University, California) recently published an article on rates of depression among older adults of expanded race and ethnicity groups.
Their article is the first to examine rates of depression among 19 different race and ethnicity groups in a national sample and shows large differences among groups that previously have been studied together, masking these large differences. Learn more in The Gerontologist.
