Casey Collins will graduate with her bachelor’s degree in Nutrition – Dietetics on June 16. As an honors student, Casey collaborated with nutrition faculty, a fellow student and Oregon State Ecampus to create an interactive video that explains changes to the nutrition label.

“We are trying to change the stigma of being overweight and the negative effect that can have,” Tyler Chase, club president and a senior majoring in Nutrition, says. “Being healthy isn’t about reaching the finish line or having a specific body. It’s a behavior that you can incorporate no matter how much you weigh.”

PHHS student fights for representation of Puerto Rico

When Mayra first came to Oregon State, she says seeing the flag hung in the MU made her feel welcome. “The unusual political situation of PR as a commonwealth of the U.S. often results in minimal representation and recognition of our culture in some spaces on the mainland,” she says “Since there are so few of us at OSU, the representation of our flag communicates that we are seen and recognized as valuable members of the institution,” she says.

Conference at OSU explores intravenous vitamin C as treatment for cancer, sepsis

The conference will include a day-long symposium on vitamin C with a focus on the micronutrient’s capabilities in treating cancer and sepsis, as well as sessions on dietary components and the microbiome; lipid metabolism; vitamin E; bioactives; and diet, neuropathy and dementia.
