The symposium, “New Global Health: Transforming the Horizon,” will bring together practitioners, researchers, educators and Oregon State’s partners from around the world who are engaged in finding equitable and sustainable health solutions to global health challenges.
“I loved my job because it was what I studied in school and it was very challenging – never a dull moment – and it was very humanitarian in nature,” says CPHHS alum Peter Okoye, who worked for the UN for 24 years.
Alexsandra Dos Reis is an international student from Brazil currently studying at Oregon State. During Summer 2012, Alexsandra studied at la Universidad de Salamanca through the Academic Programs International’s (API) Spanish Language and Culture Program. At Oregon State, Alexsandra is majoring in Human Development and Family Sciences (HDFS) and has a minor in Spanish.
Getting the unique opportunity to research in an idyllic location such as the Swiss Alps may seem attractive to most – but for PhD student Jack Day – it was the potential for collaborating with his peers that influenced his decision to participate in a week-long doctoral workshop abroad.
