Words matter. That’s the message pediatrician, journalist and public health advocate Dr. Richard Besser shared during a public lecture and private audience with College of Public Health and Human Sciences students in April.
The Center for Healthy Aging Research housed in the CPHHS at Oregon State is recruiting volunteers to join a registry for possible participation in future studies related to the health and well-being of middle-aged and older adults.

“I am looking at how new and emerging tobacco products are impacting African American youth and young adults. I want to know what they know about these products, how they learned about these products, how they feel about these products and what kinds of marketing are being used by tobacco companies to reach this population,” Kari-Lyn says.

Many tend to view their job as “work” – but not TEAM OREGON instructors. For these professionals, work is a time to connect with the community, teach others how to ride a motorcycle and most importantly, ensure the safety of motorcyclists and car drivers alike.
