Our college covered the modest registration fee for three graduate students to participate in the two-day ASPPH Student Leadership Institute, which was held immediately prior to the annual APHA meeting in San Diego. This year’s training focused on unconscious bias, cultural humility and writing as a public health skill. Mayra Crespo-Bellido was one of the students selected from seven nominated to participate. As a result of participating, Mayra is creating a webinar on unconscious bias for the Oregon Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, which will be held in February.
