Three College of Public Health and Human Sciences’ doctoral programs are ranked in the “top 10” for faculty productivity in their respective disciplines among all Land Grant institutions, based on a Faculty Scholarly Productivity Index (FSPI) analysis using Academic Analytics.
The college’s Moore Family Center for Whole Grain Foods, Nutrition and Preventive Health hosted its second annual Food, Nutrition and Health Update in late February, bringing together leaders in the field of nutrition.
A study of the metabolic effects of omega-3 fatty acids, especially DHA, concludes that these compounds may have an even wider range of biological impacts than previously considered, and suggests they could be of significant value in the prevention of fatty liver disease.

“I really enjoy introducing the interesting facts and history about nutrients to students for the first time,” Neilann says.
“The goal is for active teens to adopt healthy lifestyles to prevent unhealthy weight gain, especially as they transition into adulthood,” Siew Sun says.
